Maroon 5

Maroon 5 adalah salah satu band paling populer asal Los Angeles, California, Amerika. Grup ini sebelumnya terbentuk pada tahun 1994 dengan nama Kara's flowers saat mereka masih bersekolah di SMA. Dengan anggota Adam Levine (vokal, gitar), Micky Madden (bass, backing vocal) ,Matt flyn (drum, perkusi) dan Ryan Dusick ( drum, perkusi, backing vocal), mereka menandatangani Reprise Record dan memperkenalkan album The Fourth World pada tahun 1997. Setelah tanggapan yang hangat pada album tersebut, band ini memisahkan diri dari label rekaman mereka dan masuk perguruan tinggi. Pada tahun 2001, band ini bersatu kembali dan menambah James Valentine (gitar, backing vokal) menjadi anggotanya, dan terbentuklah nama baru pengganti Kara's flowers yaitu Maroon 5. Namun, Ryan Dusick keluar dari Maroon 5 tahun 2006, dan PJ Morton (keyboard, synthizer) bergabung tahun 2012 hingga sekarang.

Maroon 5 menandatangani Octone Record dan merekam album debutnya pada tahun 2002. Albumnya, Songs About Jane, dirilis pada bulan Juni 2002. Lagu pertamanya "Harder to Breathe" sering disiarkan, sehingga membantu mendorong album ke peringkat 6 pada Billboard 200 Amerika Serikat. Lagu kedua dan ketiga dari album, "This Love" dan "She Will Be Loved", adalah hits seluruh dunia pada tahun 2004. Band ini memenangkan Grammy Award untuk Artis Baru Terbaik pada tahun 2005. Pada beberapa tahun setelahnya, band ini secara khusus mengadakan tour keliling dunia untuk mendukung Songs About Jane. Sejak memulai debutnya pada tahun 2002, band ini sudah sukses menjual lebih dari 19 juta album di Amerika Serikat. Wow!
